JURGEN HABERMAS

                       Philosophy is the study of ideas about knowledge,truth , the nature and meaning of life .  My philosopher that the teacher give to me  is Jurgen Habermas . Jurgen Habermas is famous teacher and mentor . Jurgen Habermas is a famous philosopher. Jurgen Habermas have a two famous philosophies; the Communicative Rationality and Speech Acts. Communicative Rationality is the set of theory which describes human rationality as a necessary outcome of successful communication. According to the theory of communicative rationality , the potential for certain kinds of reason is inherent in communication itself.speech acts is extensive written work addresses topics stretching from social political theory to aesthetics, epistemology and language to philosophy but also political-legal thought , sociology  communication studies argumentation theory and rhetoric, developmental psychology and theology. that is the meaning of the theory of Jurgen Habermas .

                    Jurgen Habermas was born in Dusseldorf, in Rhine province. Jurgen Habermas was born with a Cleft Palate and had a corrective surgery twice during childhood. Jurgen Habermas was born on 18 1929 as a german and sociologist and philosopher in the tradition of Critical theory and Pragmatism. Jurgen Habermas is the one of their favorite among the world “Would Leading Thinker”. When Jurgen Habermas was a teenager he was affected in world war 2 until he graduated in gymnasium. Jurgen Habermas lived in Gummersbach . And his father’s name is Emst Habermas . Emst Habermas was executed director in the cologne chamber of industry aand commerce and was describe by Habermas as a “Nazi Sympathizer”. He studied at the universities of Gottingen (1949/50). He study philosophy and sociology under the critical theorist. Jurgen Habermas was awarded “ the Prince of Astrurias”  award in social sciences of 2003. Jurgen Habermas was listed as the seventh most-cited author in the humanities ( including the social sciences ) by the times higher education guide , ahead of Max Weber and behind Erving Goffman. Jurgen Habermas is a famed teacher and mentor. Jurgen Habermas was died at the age of 88.

                 The two theorist of Jurgen Habermas is Communicative Rationality and Speech Acts. For Jurgen Habermas the communicative rationality is defined by Jurgen Habermas as: those communication condition in which all kinds of validity claims maybe articulated (zierhofer 2002,p 1364). This form of rationality is together with instrument rationality the bases of Habermas structuration of communication. And the ideal speech situation is found when the communication between is individuals  is governed by basic, implied rules. In an ideal speech situation participants would be able to evaluate each other assention . Solely in the basis of reason and evidence if an atmosphere complete of any non rational “coercive” imfluences , including both physical and psychological coernion . All partipants would be able to motivated solely by the desire to obtain a rational consensus.

               

                    For my understanding in the theory of Jurgen Habermas is the speech act did not happen between two people or more people if they cannot talk or communicate to each other, And the communicative rationality was build if the two person are talking or having a conversation so that they can learn more things that they cannot learn. For example in speech acts , The Filipino people and the other country men are did not talking to each other because he did not know the language of each other then he did not understand each other. and for example in communicative rationality , if the Filipino had learning to speak in English language then they are communicating to other country men then they have a possible to enhance her knowledge in English language by communicating to other country men and to improved her skill in English . And that’s my understanding for the theory of Jurgen Habermas .

                       The theory of Jurgen Habermas is so amazing because Communicative Rationality  and Speech Acts is the meaning is communicate , that we always use in everyday life . it is important because they will learn more knowledge from the other people that give a lessons to everyone using communication. I have no suggestion for the theory of Jurgen Habermas because the theory of Jurgen Habermas is realistic because her theory is always use in every day life .
